Gardening is more than just a personal hobby- it is a way to bond with others. While out shopping for gardening supplies, make friends that you think would like to swap plants. Plant swapping is done when there is an abundance of one plant in your garden that someone else doesn’t have. A swap in this case is free, and doesn’t hurt you as long as you have more seeds.

If you are in true financial need, check with the free organizations in your area. There are green initiatives that will come and plant gardens for the needy. Others may even go further, providing you with food to help you in the hard times. That way you have food for now, and can work for a great garden in the future with some hard work and luck.
